Shopping Tips

Here are a few tips…

Whether you’re a regular market shopper, or this is your first time, we thought you’d appreciate a few ideas on how to make your farmers market experience an even better one:

  • Get in early – our growers and makers arrive early and would love to see you. It’s a good time for a chat with them and some produce is in high demand and goes quickly!
  • Bring your dog – from October to May, your pet is welcome at the Northcourt market site as long as they are on a tight lead held by a responsible adult and any ‘nature-calls’ moments are cleaned up by their owner.
  • Get around – it’s great to see your favourite growers, but make a point of meeting someone new each visit. As well as discovering new produce, you’ll make some new friends!
  • Do your homework – find out what’s in season and what’s on at the Market by subscribing to our monthly newsletter and checking out the News (link) section of this site.
  • Be kind to the environment – bring shopping bags from home, or buy one of our stylish, environmentally friendly shopping bags from the Rotary Helpdesk.
  • Be a stayer – some of the best bargains can be found at closing time, so stick around!
